2017 Active Mobility champions

On Parking Day Montréal, September 22, MOBA congratulated the winners of the 2017 Active Mobility Champions Challenge. The Challenge, which took place from June 1 to August 31, attracted close to 100 participants from all over the western metropolitan region.


This inter-company competition encourages Montréal employees to commute to work using active transportation. In all, the participants made 2,131 active commutes (equivalent to more than four years of car commutes!):

  • 25,240 km by bike
  • 1,215 km running/walking


The winners are... 

Consistency category

(the most active commutes):

  1. Loic Prieur Devron (Ericsson) — 111 active commutes
  2. Chantale Mercier (borough of Saint-Laurent) — 109 active commutes
  3. Mathieu Girard (Adetel) — 102 active commutes
  4. Lucie Ruffin (Physimed) — 95 active commutes


Determination category

(the most kilometres travelled) (1 km on foot = 3 km by bike):

  1. Pascal Pérusse (Sphera Solutions) — 2,068 km by bike
  2. Mathieu Girard (Adetel) — 1,264 km by bike / 155 km running
  3. Loic Prieur Devron (Ericsson) — 1,709 km by bike
  4. Yannick Verschueren​ (Adetel) — 1,372 km by bike and 17 km running
