On Friday, October 25, 2019 will take place the Corporate Ecocitizen Rendez-vous. A conference and networking morning for companies who want to make a sustainable and green change, with Marie-Josée Richer, co-founder of PRANA, and other entrepreneurs.

 

Organized by Développement économique Saint-Laurent (DESTL), the Corporate Ecocitizen Rendez-vous aims to present entrepreneurs with solutions to make their business efficient and effective, while capitalizing on eco-responsible practices.

The challenges of sustainable development in companies

  • 67% of senior executives say they are concerned about sustainable development
  • 41% of companies were aware of the concept of sustainable development in 2017
  • 10% of companies had adopted a sustainable development management practice in 2017
  • 30%: it is the rate of Quebec companies that must have started a sustainable development approach in 2020, according to the 2015-2020 Government Sustainable Development Strategy

 

Sustainable development in Saint-Laurent

  • 10 years! that Saint-Laurent Economic Development (DESTL) offers businesses consulting services in sustainable development
  • 169 companies mentioned having initiated sustainable development actions, during the DESTL 2018 census
  • 84 companies had in place a project related to the sustainable mobility of their employees, in 2018
  • Saint-Laurent declared itself a "sustainable municipal territory" on January 8, 2019, with its new Sustainable Development Policy, which targets citizens, industries, businesses, institutions and organizations, as well as employees and municipal partners in Saint-Laurent.
