Hooked on School Days 2019

15 February 2019

As part of Hooked on School Days (HSD), which ran from February 11 to 15, the DESTL team emphasized the importance of encouraging local youngsters in their efforts to succeed.

In Saint-Laurent, the business community conducts its activities in a borough that has 9,000 students in 13 schools, and where close to one out of four youngsters drops out of school before obtaining their high school diploma.

After HSD ends, it’s still possible for your business to take steps to encourage youngsters in a nearby school to persevere:

  • By inviting high school students to meet with the different tradespeople in your company, you can awaken interest in the students.
  • And by donating school supplies to newly arrived families in the borough, you are equipping youngsters to do their schoolwork.
